Boston Moving

My first Photo Walk of 2025 found me wandering Boston's Chinatown and Downtown Crossing neighborhoods with a few equally eager photographers. The general themes for the evening were street photography and city scenes. With both areas, Chinatown and Downtown Crossing, often busy with pedestrian and vehicle traffic, I felt confident we would find worthy subjects. As we explored different locations and vantage points along our route, I challenged myself to photograph a sense of activity. Like all cities, Boston is a busy, vibrant network of people, buildings, and traffic. This morning, reflecting on this image taken in front of the Paramount Theater last weekend, I realized how much "movement" influences my creative thinking. Whenever I am in the city, I seek action, but I do the same with waterfalls, birds in flight, the ocean, and more. To me, life is in constant motion. Everything moves, everything grows, and everything changes. One of my photography resolutions for the new year is to create more images that feature a sense of motion.
