She was born on a farm in western Pennsylvania 79 years ago today. Her family did not have much but, they grew up in a time when not much was needed. They grew things, they made things, they fixed things, and they had each other. Farm life meant hard work, being humble, hardship, gratefulness, and commitment. Farm life made her the person, woman, wife, and mother that she is today.
Mothers are special but, they are extra special to their sons. Mine is no different than so many others and yet, there is no one else like her in the world. She is the most honest person I know. She has more humility than anyone I know. She may be small but, her heart and her strength is immense. Today, at 79, she can still out work me in every way. When I am with her I watch her with complete admiration and awe. I look at her hands and think of the many, many things she has made for her family, her friends, and strangers. She is the kindest, most considerate, most generous, most appreciative person I know. One day when I grow up I want to be just like her.
Happy Birthday to my beautiful mother. Thank you for all that you have done, for all that you do, and for all that you will continue to do cause thats just how you are. You are my hero.
