It is another month before the official start of Winter despite what the thermometer says on some mornings and the occasional dusting of snow. Looking out my window at “stick season” I am reminded that the best of Autumn has come and gone but, the opportunities of a new season are just around the corner. Visions of colorful Christmas lights, fresh snowfall, abstracts of ice, and snowy owls will soon fill my viewfinder. Until then, I am happy to reflect on images from the year that I did not process yet or give enough attention to. This is a great time to organize your images, work on new processing techniques, or just re-visit images that, at first pass, did not catch your attention.
So often we gravitate to what is instantly beautiful to our eye but, there is much to be said for taking the time to look and appreciate a more subtle beauty. Open more than your eyes and you will truly see.
