I still love books. Despite the internet, tablets, and electronic media there will always be a need for books. I love how they look, feel, and smell. More importantly, I value the wealth of information they contain and the imagination they inspire. Learning and exploration is only a library away.
I remember as a kid my parents had a set of current encyclopedias. I used them for every book report and every class throughout my school years. I also used them to research things I read about in other books, heard on the news, learned about in school, or discovered on my own. I turned to those encyclopedia’s time and time again. Books were, and are, a critical component of learning, and knowledge. They will always be invaluable.
Despite the speed and vastness of the internet, and my Droid, there is still a need for books. Hold onto your classics, your hand me downs, and the well worn books you were given over the years. There is still much to learn and enjoy among the faded covers and dogeared pages.
Given the bitter cold, today is a perfect day to sit with an old, familiar book, or a new one, and be warmed by a good story.
